$225 for 50-minute psychotherapy session
Longer sessions can be arranged - please speak with Brian if this would be beneficial or appropriate and what the cost would be.
There are no extra fees based on the number of people in the session. The same fee applies to individual or family therapy. There are no extra fees based on type of therapy provided either (e.g., talk therapy, EMDR, DBT skills training, family counseling, etc.).
I am not on any insurance panels but may submit out-of-network claims to your insurance company as a courtesy. Please discuss this with me prior to starting therapy. Methods of Payment
Cash, check, and all major credit cards are accepted for payment. Many people leave a credit card on file for convenience. If a family is paying for a loved one’s therapy, this is perfectly okay but I typically require the individual client to contribute something, regardless of how small, to increase the level of investment they have in the process.
A 24-hour cancellation is requested. No-shows as well as cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will require payment for the session.
Virtual Counseling (Telehealth)
I have been practicing psychotherapy via video conferencing formats for several years which has prepared me for our current COVID-19 situation. Recent events have forced many of us to adapt to significant changes. As such, many therapists have switched to remote counseling to provide the much needed mental health support while also taking social distancing precautions. Although I find in-person counseling to be preferable in most situations, telehealth can offer many benefits such as when face-to-face meetings are not possible (like when a client is out of town), for convenience in not having to travel to the office, or for those who just feel more comfortable being in the safety of their own homes. Video sessions are conducted through one of many platforms I subscribe to such as Zoom or VSee which work quite well and are secure and HIPAA-compliant. Please discuss any questions you have with me during our consultation.
Family Therapy for Addictions
When working with a family navigating through a crisis due to a loved one’s addiction, often we utilize a combination of in-office sessions with phone calls as developments may occur numerous times during the week and you may require guidance in shorter segments (e.g., a 15 minute phone call to help coach through a tough scenario).
If you have any questions about payment or billing, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
